Perc Tucker Regional Gallery is Townsville's premier regional art gallery, offering a dynamic range of local, national and international exhibitions complemented by workshops, talks and a host of other programs.

Having begun in 2007, The Percivals is an open competition for artists. While showcasing Australian artists' outstanding and innovative work, the competitions have also allowed many emerging artists to engage with portraiture and share their expressions of themselves and those close to them.

The Percival Portrait Painting Prize is a $40,000 acquisitive prize, and the Percival Photographic Portrait Prize. $10,000 acquisitive prize. Also, a favourite part of these awards is the Percivals People Choices Awards for the painting and photographic finalists. Votes will open at the start of the exhibition.

Perc Tucker Regional Gallery will be closed on Saturday 23 April from 10am – 1pm. The Percivals will instead open to the public on Saturday 23 April for the VIP launch event starting at 6pm.

They have an exciting launch event organised, including live entertainment, roving artists and a licensed area for the general public in front of Perc Tucker Regional Gallery. This area will not be ticketed and will include a big screen to broadcast the winners announcements.

Coldrey’s piece Pet Drone #2 is a finalist for the 2022 Percival Photographic Portrait Prize.
